The Angel, Olivia, Heidi and Gracie May 2009

This piece of art is going to be our last blog this year because we are going to Germany, so we will not be with Daddy this year for Christmas and we are having Christmas day this week Saturday.

The art is called The Angel because we three kids created it to put on top of the Christmas tree. It took hard work to create, and I thought it was worth it because I made most of it.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the three artists!

The blog is late this week because Daddy is writing it. It should be Gracie's turn but the girls had a school Christmas Fayre to go to, which, obviously, is much more important.

Being the run up to Christmas we decided to do Milton Keynes Christmas art and have chosen the lovely reindeers sculptured from twigs. They are in the in the ring in the shopping centre with the other concrete cows.

I wanted the girls to go in with them to get a better picture, but Olivia refused and did not allow any of us to go in - she is a good honest girl and I am very proud of her!

The girls liked the art which made them even more excited about Christmas.

Triple Starhead 1987-93, Paul Neagu. Furzton Lake

The artists name was Paul Neagu and he was born in Romania. He died in 2004.

This sculpture has been seen outside the British High Commission in Canada and also at Goodwood.

The sculpture represents shape of a shooting star.

Some other artworks made by the artist that we chose were Starhead which was made in 1992 and the second one was Wake which was made in 1992. Both of these share the star theme.

Unknown, The Vision Complex, Witan Gate, Milton Keynes

I called this piece of art the Waterball because we don't know the name.
The Waterball was found behind sainsburys in the Vision building.
It was found by daddy who was cycling on the red way cycling path.

We liked the Waterball because it was nice and shiny but we didn't like it being wet!

The orange wall reflects onto the shiny surface which makes me feel that sainsburys is near.

AFTER POMPEII, AFTER HIROSHIMA, AFTER, AFTER……, Edna Eguchi 2009

The artists name is called Edna Eguchi and she came from Japan.
The art was made in 2009.

This piece of art represents the remains of peoples lives after the destruction of their city.
The grey paint represents the dust covering what was left after the city had fallen.
This piece of art looked very strange in the green park, but we liked it anyway.

The Space Between: Eilis O'Connell 1992

Eilis O'Connell made this sculpture in 1992.

Other pieces include Carapace, which was made in 1999 and Unfold, made in 2001.

We chose this sculpture today because we could not find the sculpture that we wanted, which was in front of the hockey stadium.

We liked this sculpture because you could stick you head through it and your body. We didn't like where it had graphite all over it.

Essence by Wendy Taylor, 1982

This sculpture is called Essence and was made in 1982. It is made out of bronze. It can be seen in Milton Keynes in the Silbury Boulevard . Wendy Taylor has been creating many different sculptures since the 1960's.

Every time we pass this sculpture on the way into town I remind Daddy that we should photograph it as I think it is a good sculpture to sit in. The last few times we have passed it, the weather was raining so we could not sit in it like I wanted to.
