Black Horse: Elisabeth Frink Silbury Boulevard

The name of this sculpture is Black Horse. It was made by Elisabeth Frink. She has done different kinds of Animal sculptures and these are some of them Birds,Pigs,and Dogs.

When I touched the sculpture it felt as if it was metal and when I banged on it a bit it sounded like an echo. It was made from bronze. It was shaped very well. They put it on a big carved stone.

We did not know if we could stand on the base but we did anyway. Nobody noticed.

Our daddy asked me to stand by the Horse and my other sisters sat infant and on the other side of it. We did not take a picture of the information because we did not need to as we had looked on the internet and found it on there instead.

Unknown outside Art Gallery

This sculpture is located outside the art gallery.

On the internet we search the web to see what the name of the sculpture was but today we could not find it. I hope we will have better luck at finding the name of the sculpture next week.  On the front the sculpture there was a sign but we still think it is a sculpture.

This sculpture looked like it was made of metal. It looked like an entrance to a palace or some posh place. The parts were arranged so that they were separated from each other and that people could walk right through them. I think the art represents a spy place where spy guards are guarding the art gallery.

I didn't really like this artwork.

Octo: Wendy Taylor, Sillbury Boulevard 1980

This sculpture is called Octo. It is placed on the Sillbury Boulevard, outside the Norfolk and Ashton buildings.  I like the way the sculpture sits in the square pond because of the reflection of the sculpture.

We have taken a picture of a different sculpture by the same artist,which is also cuved and made of metal but just smaller to this one. The artist is called Wendy Taylor. I think she has done a good job of thinking though all of the sculptures making them look different. This sculpture is probably going to be my best sculpture yet because of the way it looks.

I thought that the sculpture was called the Wendy Taylor and then I thought it was called The Silbury Boulevard, but then when Daddy saw it he said that it was called Octo.

On the way Heidi kept looking for a monster footprint that we found a few weeks ago but she could not find it. We have enclosed the picture that we took when we last saw it.

Heidi, Gracie and I were walking round the sculpture trying not to fall in.

Flying Carpet: Philomena Davis, 1989. Shopping center

This sculpture is called Flying Carpet and it was created by the same artist that we have photographed in an earlier entry, Philomena Davis.

The sculptures were all based on fun in different ways.

We thought it's a good sculpture because they are all of children. When the girl was on the flying carpet the wind was blowing her hair back in one piece.

Chain Reaction Ray Smith, 1992 Campbell Park

This sculpture was made by Ray Smith in 1992 and it sits in Campbell park.

I thought we had already photographed this sculpture,  but we had not, we had just been to this park during Diwali when we photographed another sculpture.

The art is meant to be some red people standing on top of each other.

I liked the park because there were lots and lots of hills and there were para-gliders trying to lift of the ground but unfortunately they didn't.

On the way there I climbed the biggest hill and it was huge. While I ran up I tried not to step in any sheep poo because we saw over one hundred Sheep there.

Dangerous Liaisons: Philip Jackson, 1995 Theatre District

The Dangerous Liaisons was covered in graffiti, at the bottom of the sculpture it had stenciled the words Jason’s 2/3 marked on it. The sculpture itself looked quite real, because of its clothes. I t was made of bronze; it is about two people sitting on a bench in deep talk. I t looked like the two people were wearing masks and they were wearing their cloaks to hide there identity. The two men looked as if they were hiding the fact that they were talking to each other.

Dream Flight: Philomena Davis, 1989 Queens Court in the main shopping centre

Olivia explained that the person looked a bit like they were riding a horse.
Heidi said that it was cleaner than the sculpture we did.
I thought it was floating on air.
Olivia didn't like the way that it was all black.
Heidi didn't like the way that the sculpture was right in the middle of the shopping center.
I liked everything about it.
