High Flyer: Philomena Davis, 1989 Queens Court

Philomena Davis, chose three sculptures to do with the same thing but has given the sculptures different names like: Flying carpet and Dream Flight.
The girl in the sculpture was throwing a kite up into the air with the wind blowing it at the same time.

I don't think the sculpture was in a good place because there were trees behind it and Daddy had trouble finding the right angel to photograph us.

Behind the High flyer were were some dark plants and behind those were some quite tall dark trees.

Triceratops by Bill Billings 1979, Concrete. Peartree Bridge

This weeks sculpture is called the "Triceratops". It was made by Bill Billings. When we saw the sculpture we thought it was amazing the way that the artist thought of something that would be so beautiful.

We ran through the high grass to get to the sculpture. Heidi Gracie and I wanted to climb on top of the dinosaur. First Gracie got up and we thought she looked like the dinosaur queen. Then I tried climbing the dinosaur but I could not get up. Then Heidi tried, but she nearly fell of the other side of the dinosaur. The second time I tried I managed to climb onto the top of the dinosaur and I was facing Gracie. Daddy heaved Heidi up onto the back and she finally got on. The scary part of it was leaning back to slide down. In the end we got a quite a few pictures taken.

I first saw the sculpture for real when Heidi pointed it out, as we were driving and looking for it. I saw the original sculpture on a postcard that Daddy bought. The original sculpture was green with an orange eye but I find todays sculpture better because of the gold and silver paint on it. The sculpture was repainted after a competition and the chosen colours were used.

Black Horse: Elisabeth Frink Silbury Boulevard

The name of this sculpture is Black Horse. It was made by Elisabeth Frink. She has done different kinds of Animal sculptures and these are some of them Birds,Pigs, and Dogs.

When I touched the sculpture it felt as if it was metal and when I banged on it a bit it sounded like an echo. It was made from bronze. It was shaped very well. They put it on a big carved stone.

We did not know if we could stand on the base but we did anyway. Nobody noticed.

Our daddy asked me to stand by the Horse and my other sisters sat infant and on the other side of it. We did not take a picture of the information because we did not need to as we had looked on the internet and found it on there instead.

Unknown outside Art Gallery

This sculpture is located outside the art gallery.

On the internet we search the web to see what the name of the sculpture was but today we could not find it. I hope we will have better luck at finding the name of the sculpture next week.  On the front the sculpture there was a sign but we still think it is a sculpture.
This sculpture looked like it was made of metal. It looked like an entrance to a palace or some posh place. The parts were arranged so that they were separated from each other and that people could walk right through them. I think the art represents a spy place where spy guards are guarding the art gallery.

I didn't really like this artwork.
